Opera for Peace: Peace Song for 4/5/2012

March With Me” is the Peace Song of the Day for April 5th. I believe that this is the first time that our daily peace song has been from the genre of opera. “March With Me” is performed by Montserrat Caballe and Vangelis. Ms. Caballe is a Spanish, operatic soprano. Vangelis is a Greek composer. Both have made a mark on popular culture.

The words to “March With Me” are beautiful and uplifting (and simple enough, that you may be able to memorize them.)

I’ve Got Soul, But I’m Not A Soldier: Peace Song for 3/26

The Peace Song of the Day for 3/26/2012 is “All These Things That I’ve Done“, by the alternative rock band, The Killers (2004).

The song includes a great line for young people trying to resist the temptation of choosing the military as a career. There is a mantra in the song that goes, “I got soul, but I’m not a soldier”. Young“, by the rap rock group Hollywood Undead, is the Peace Song of the Day for March 6th. This song is a little louder than many that have been on the daily list. Though, the lyrics are great. And, sometimes its good to get angry against war.
