Duchess Susanna writes: Hold on tight folks! Lots of songs coming through today…While the Duke and Duchess of Peace share responsibility for Peace Song of the Day, since The Duke currently has the more serious day job, The Duchess is in charge of keeping things up around here. You may have noticed that she (me) missed a few days. Well, here goes…Peace Song announcements for a lot of the days that have passed by too quickly…
“The More We Get Together” is the Peace Song of the Day for December 24th . It is a traditional song, popularized by the children’s singer Raffi. It can be found in the Rise Up Singing songbook on page 240. Singing this song would be a wonderful way to celebrate the crowd at a demonstration. Or, you could change or add lyrics as the basis for a topical song to make a specific point.

The More We Get Together
The more we get together, together, together
The more we get together, the happier we’ll be
For my friends are your friends and your friends are my friends…..
The more we get together the happier we’ll be!
The Peace Song of the Day is a project of Duke Augustus and Duchess Susanna, The Duke and Duchess of Peace. The Duke and Duchess recognize that one of the paths to peace is to find soulful and nonviolent entertainment, and to express oneself with art and song. We love songs that are singable, such as this song “The More We Get Together”, which is often used by early childhood educators for listening, movement activities, and singing.
