“I Never Thought I’d Miss Richard Nixon“ by Sonny Meadows is the Peace Song of the Day for December 10th. This song is on the album of the same title, and performed by Blacklisted & The Banned.
The song was released in 2007. It describes how the Nixon era seemed better than the White House of the time. You would have to contact Sonny Meadows to ask if he believes that still applies. “Just Like Germany Before the War” by Sonny Meadows is the Peace Song of the Day for December 8th. You can find this song on the albumĀ Bibles, Guns & Flags.
The song is a little depressing. Though, mostly because it resonates. (Especially with the recent passage in the US Senate of the National Defense Authorization Act). And, the song is also soulful, and very catchy.

Stand in the place where you are: Peace Song for 11/15/2011
“Stand” by R.E.M. is the Peace Song of the Day for November 15th. The Duke and Duchess of Peace would like to dedicate this song to the folks occupying Liberty Square in NYC. Last night, they lost a lot of supplies, and thousands of books, because the city and the police tried to stop them from redressing their government.
Support and strength to Occupy Wall Street to stand firm at Liberty Square. Support and strength to all the occupiers, who are nobly using nonviolent action to promote democracy and social justice.
Thursday, November 17th is an International Day of Action. Folks in New York City will be trying to occupy the whole city and the subways.
