Peace Like A River: Peace Song for Thursday 8/18/2011

The Royal Peace Song of the Day for August 18th is “Peace Like A River” by Marvin V. Frey. You can find the lyrics at Rise Up Singing on page 195.

The Duke and Duchess of Peace would like to dedicate today’s song to the people of the Middle East. “I’ve got tears like the raindrops”.

More about today’s Royal Song of the Day:
The video above is the song performed by The University of Utah Singers. It is a beautiful, slow version. I also found a completely different rendition, which I could not resist posting for two reasons. One: It is performed on accordion. Two: It is dedicated to another member of royalty, who appears to have been crowned in similar fashion to the Duke and Duchess of Peace. Allow us to introduce you to Queen Joan and her admirer, accordion player Holberg’s Time:

The Royal Song of the Day is a project of Duke Augustus and Duchess Susanna, The Duke and Duchess of Peace. The Duke and Duchess recognize that one of the paths to peace is to find soulful and nonviolent entertainment, and to express oneself with art and song.
